Ole Miss C Robert Conyers tears ACL, out for the season

Ole Miss center Robert Conyers suffered a torn ACL against Memphis and will miss the remainder of the season, coach Hugh Freeze said during his Monday press conference.

Freeze said Conyers injury occurred in his “good knee” alluding to the fact that Conyers had been struggling with an injury in his right knee the past few months that had limited him to just two practice days a week.

Conyers did not start the 37-24 loss to Memphis, but replaced starting right tackle Sean Rawlings in the first quarter. The injury was sustained in the first half and Conyers left the field on crutches.

Justin Bell will start at center for Saturday’s game against Texas A&M. Left tackle Laremy Tunsil also makes his first appearance of the year after missing the first seven games for accepting impermissible benefits.
